1700s French Vernis Martin Antique Snuff, Patch Box, Sterling & 18k Gold Vermeil glasses The interesting chocolate to blondA spectacular and early snuff or perhaps patch box, dainty at 2. 5" in diameter, made of sterling silver that has an 18k gold lining (vermeil), and whose exterior is entirely hand decorated in the manner of the Vernis Martin, (varnish layering with paint) which was the favorite of French Queen Marie Antoinette.
