As the lake was drained this summer

I grabbed my camera and quickly headed down to the Gastineau Channel just as the sun was rising for the last day of November

It was a week of cold temperatures as the lake by Mendenhall Glacier had frozen over in just a couple of days

With the iceberg being so large we had to stay back from the berg itself for safety as you never know when it may calf and/or flip over

Walrus in Svalbard Small Note Cards As the lake was drainedI spent 12 days on an expedition boat in Svalbard. On one of the days we headed out on the zodiacs to photograph some walrus which were sitting on the beach. The curiosity we had in the group of around 60 walrus was also mutual as when we got closer they started to swim out to check out the zodiacs as being in a remote portion of the world this was most likely a new experience to them as well. After a little bit these two walrus started to practice
