Snowflake Obsidian 18" Necklace Color:Black Gray Glass Meets CrystalChalcedony Trapped Mid Bubble Snowflake Obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools too quickly to crystallize but unlike solid black obsidian, small clusters of cristobalite (a mineral related to quartz) form within it as it cools, creating the white "snowflake" spots scattered through the black glass. Faceted here into small round pebbles rather than left raw, the cut catches light differently across the black and gray white pattern. Good for
