Colorado and spent a weekend exploring the high country in the area

however I woke up early and headed to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Bear Lake area

Preparing for this at the western edge of the park I position myself close to where I felt the sun would be over the city when creating this image

There are still some reminders of the construction in the area

Curved Line in the Sand Size:11"x14" Colorado and spent a weekendWhen you first get to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve you can focus on the large dunes which sit in front of the Sangre de Christo Mountains. However there are also the small details which you can find as well as in this image. A line in the sand winds it way into the dunes as the afternoon sun casts a shadow.
